Harder provided all mechanical work for a Central Utility Plant, two major kitchens, five restaurants, chillers, boilers, and plumbing in the new 368,000 SF tribal gaming casino.
The ilani project was unique in that Harder pulled together an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Sheet Metal trades to build this new, ground-up casino. We co-located in a Big Room at Harder’s warehouse and as a team, collaboratively developed each of our scopes to optimize the sequence of how work would flow. The General Contractor applauded the spirit of cooperation and involved us in all scheduling considerations going forward. On this project, Harder rolled out our new Lean toolbox approach, now used company wide. We prefabricated as much pipe and ductwork off-site as possible and because we came in as a team, we were able to share forklifts, man-lifts, and all other equipment, drastically reducing on-site material and congestion.
